GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., June 16, 2006 – Fred Harteis of The Independent Business Owners Association International congratulates Independent Business Owners (IBOs) in the U.S. and Canada for driving Quixtar (www.quixtar.com) to the top of the Health and Beauty Category of Internet Retailer’s Top 500 Guide of retail Web sites.
“Internet Retailer’s ranking is a great testament to the hard work and enthusiasm of our association members, Quixtar IBOs,” says Fred Harteis. “Their business success also lead Quixtar to be ranked 20th among all 500 companies surveyed.”
Internet Retailer’s Top 500 guide ranks America’s largest retail Web sites based on 2005 sales. “Quixtar earned its top ranking based on $1.058 billion in total sales, including $751 million online sales,” notes Harteis.
“According to the publication, online sales in the Health and Beauty category were just over $1.7 billion in 2005,” says Harteis. “Quixtar represented more than a 40 percent of the sales in the H & B category, surpassing companies such as Avon, Sephora USA, and The Vitamin Shop,” adds Fred Harteis.
