North Cascades Vintage Aircraft Fly-In July 22-24, 2016

The North Cascades Vintage Aircraft Museum and the Town of Concrete are working to make this year’s Fly-In packed with fun.  There will be live music by Skagit Swing Band, a beer garden hosted by Anacortes Brewery, free children’s activities, pancake breakfast, food trucks and most importantly many significant and interesting vintage aircraft.

The new Fly-In head volunteer, Julie Hubner, is a great friend to the museum. Julie has worked on successful Fly-Ins at Skagit Regional Airport, owns vintage aircraft, and is a certified flight instructor. “We are expecting over 250 vintage aircraft this year and more fun than ever!”

The North Cascades Vintage Aircraft Fly-In, nestled alongside the North Cascades National Park in Washington state, has grown to become a favorite fly-in for vintage, classic and antique airplane enthusiasts.  It is also a great community event and visitors to the Skagit Valley driving the Cascade Loop find it an excellent festival stop on their vacation. 

During the Fly-In there is free admission to the museum.  Visitor Mark Conover comments: “It’s rare that so many lovely and interesting airplanes are so accessible to a museum visitor. The refurbishment workshops are available for close viewing, as are associated hangars on the complex. No better place for an airplane fan to spend a lovely summer day.”

On Friday experience aircraft arriving and departing along with aircraft judging.  Saturday the fun ramps up with helicopter rides, kid’s activities, vintage classic cars, food trucks, beer garden, live music and an evening movie in museum hanger.  The town of Concrete will be joining in the fun with exhibits all day long.
