HOUSTON, Texas, June 20, 2016 –Medical Information Records, LLC (MIR), creator of AnesthesiaOS™, a Microsoft Azure cloud-based Anesthesia Information Management System (AIMS) has sought  to standardize care by focusing on the mobility and the replication of an enhanced patient care experience and not the mobility of a particular device and/or workstation. Today AnesthesiaOSTM announced that they have utilized Microsoft Office Add-ins and Microsoft Azure Machine Learning to build on its  smarter workflow by  standardizing the preoperative screening process for postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV), by assessing the risk of PONV and subsequently placing notifications of high risk back into AnesthesiaOSTM for decision support for providers.

Anesthesia providers are required to report each anesthetic procedure for patients 18 years and older that have a certain number of risk factors for PONV.  For many providers, a smarter workflow is needed because the preoperative instructions for many patients come exclusively from the surgeon and not the anesthesiologist with whom they may meet only moments prior to surgery.  Office Add-ins allows anesthesiaOS providers in both hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers to truly provide an enterprise wide solution to address fragmented workflows as it relates to screening for PONV.
