Wim Wenders receives the Cinema Honorary Award at the Istanbul Film Festival
Director Wim Wenders made his inaugural visit to Istanbul as guest of honor at the 43rd Istanbul Film Festival in collaboration with MUBI.
Three of Wenders’ films were showcased during the festival: „Anselm,“ the director’s most recent film exploring the life and artistic journey of German artist Anselm Kiefer; „Alice in the Cities,“ which was screened from a restored copy on its 50th anniversary; and Japan’s Oscar nominee „Perfect Days,“ starring Koji Yakusho in the lead role.
Wim Wenders received the Cinema Honorary Award from artist Zülfü Livaneli. The following day, Wenders presented actor Koji Yakusho with the festival’s Cinema Honorary Award.
The Istanbul Film Festival is organized by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts.
