After being diagnosed with macular degeneration, an incurable eye disease that causes the deterioration of the retina, Leif Hammarlund within several years was pronounced as legally blind. In spite of this, he began writing poems and drawing. Hand in Hand We Walk is the product of his heartfelt, painstaking work.

About the Author
 
Leif Hammarlund is legally blind because of macular degeneration. This drastic change occurred while he was working at People’s Baptist Church and Frederick Christian Academy in Maryland. His disability moved him even closer to the Lord and inspired him to draw and write poems. He continues to use the gifts God gave him and sees the world through God’s eyes.
