Metal Band Front Man’s Sister Publishes Family Memoir

But when his son, Tom, becomes the front man of the heavy metal band Slayer, he finds himself caught in a series of internal conflicts between supporting his son’s choice in music and upholding the teachings of his faith.

“Bloodline” was originally written in English. Under LitFire Publishing, Jeanette Araya releases the Spanish version of the book. It was also displayed in LitFire Publishing’s booth during the Frankfurt Book Fair in Germany from October 11 to 15, 2017.

About the Author

Jeanette Araya is an American novelist and artist. Born in Viña del Mar, Chile, and later relocating to Los Angeles, California, Araya became a nurse working in and around the greater Los Angeles area until giving birth during the mid-1980s. Her younger son was born with severe disabilities, and going to work became impossible. So she began looking for ways to improve her situation by finding comfort in the arts—developing a T-shirt line called The Moshpit, oil painting, and writing stories from her past.
