EMSL Analytical, Inc. Acquires Pace Analytical Services, Inc.’s Industrial Hygiene / Asbestos Division

On January 4, 2018, EMSL Analytical, Inc. acquired Pace Analytical Services, Inc.’s industrial hygiene and asbestos laboratory division located in Minneapolis, MN. This acquisition supports EMSL and Pace’s primary focus, which is to provide the industry with focused, high-quality laboratory testing services.

For stability and consistency of services, EMSL will continue to operate the division out of its current facility located at 1830 Elm Street SE, Minneapolis, Minnesota. Pace’s clients will now have access to EMSL’s wide range of industrial hygiene laboratory analytical testing including additional laboratory support offered at EMSL’s 42 locations throughout North America.

Pace Analytical is a privately held, full-service analytical testing firm that was founded in 1978. The company features 28 environmental laboratories and 46 service centers. In addition to Pace Analytical Services, the company has two other divisions. Pace Analytical Life Sciences provides testing services to the pharmaceutical/medical device industries and Pace Analytical Lab Ops Division provides professional scientific staffing.

This acquisition establishes EMSL’s fifth full-service, AIHA-LAP, LLC accredited industrial hygiene laboratory location joining Cinnaminson, NJ, Indianapolis, IN, Huntington Beach, CA and Charlotte, NC. The Minneapolis Industrial Laboratory currently offers industrial hygiene analysis following NIOSH, OSHA and EPA methods utilizing GC, GC-MS, HPLC, IC, ICP, ICP-MS and gravimetric techniques. The Minneapolis Industrial Hygiene laboratory also offers full-service asbestos analysis via PCM, PLM and TEM as well as mold testing for spore traps and tape lifts via direct exam microscopy.
