The initiative aims to provide well-equipped libraries in rural areas of Thailand in order to promote child literacy. On Valentine’s Day, Beiersdorf Thailand celebrated a handover ceremony of their 10th Blue Library to Wat Nuea School, located in Ratchaburi province to the west of Bangkok. This school was proposed by one of their local employees whose home is in that neighborhood.

Like the other Blue Libraries, it is functionally designed to accommodate children in their knowledge discovery and fulfill their literacy development. The library is colorfully decorated and of course includes the Blue Library tree wallpaper that inspires these children on what they could be in the future. The library is well-equipped with learning facilities including shelves filled with hundreds of interesting books and ten brand new computers.

To give this event a personal atmosphere, the Thai team pre-arranged a little fundraising campaign in the office to buy socks, sports equipment and stationery for these children. But most important of all, they volunteered to provide a good lunch and ice cream, clean the dusty library wall and paint the rusty playground.
