“I absolutely LOVED this book. The writing is so well done. It really is an effortless read. It has adventure, romance, suspense, really a little bit of everything! I also love this book because it has some really great nuggets of wisdom/knowledge along the way that are interwoven into the story. I read A LOT of books and I would absolutely read any other book by this author. If you’re on the fence, I promise you’ll love this one!” - Abby R.

Every year, the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books attracts thousands of literature aficionados, all looking for new, exciting stories and new authors to follow. Likewise, many recently published writers are excited to arrange exhibits of their work while continuing to build up their audiences.

It is an opportunity eagerly taken by D. L Crager, the mind behind an ambitious archeological thriller titled “Guarding the Past (revised edition).” Crager has just also wrapped up a revised edition of his book, which will be showcased at the festival.

“Guarding the Past (revised edition)” follows Dr. Benjamin Maschel, a young archeologist who one day receives a mysterious letter inviting him to do research on the other side of the world. The letter promises to at least address the financial challenges in continuing his studies and research (Ben had been applying for grants). In exchange, however, he must travel to an undisclosed part of the world where his expertise is sorely needed.

Little does Ben know that he will eventually discover not only the truth about his identity and heritage but also truths that will shatter the very historical foundations of what he has been taught. The plot of “Guarding the Past (revised edition)” revolves around finding ancient secrets that have been guarded for thousands of years by a warrior race dating back to King Solomon. However, there are more hidden secrets this undisclosed location holds that the warriors do not even know about.

What are these hidden secrets, and what do they have to do with humankind and the world’s history?

Crager hopes that the revised edition of Guarding the Past will make an even stronger impression upon new visitors to the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books 2024 and open their minds to the various ideas that it proposes. The book makes a great read for avid readers of Christian/biblical thrillers, historical fiction, and novels about exploration and discovery.

“Guarding the Past (revised edition)” by D. L. Crager will displayed at the self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet at booth #225 at the L.A. Times Festival of Books 2024. The event will take place on April 20-21, 2024, at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles. The revised edition is readily available on Barnes & Noble and Amazon. Crager also gives news updates on his future books on his website.
