Sunseria Jackson Schedules LATFOB 2024 Exhibit for Memoir That Showcases the Faith Struggles of a Modern Woman Exploring Between Christianity and Islam

Not all publications exhibited at the upcoming L.A. Times Festival of Books are best-sellers, hit series, or the next movie adaptation. In fact, a majority of them are just like Sunseria Jackson’s memoir, “A Journey of Faith.” They are simply stories told as honestly as possible about the challenges they’ve faced and the lessons they’ve learned. In Jackson’s case though, it distinguishes itself in being a modern woman’s firsthand account going between Christianity and Islam.

“One woman speaks from the heart about her constant journeying between two of the world’s major faiths.”

Many attend the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books expecting to discover major best-sellers, trending series, or perhaps a novel so good that it may get adapted to TV or film.

While that’s certainly the case for a handful of the festival’s exhibits, the truth is many more are written by self-published and independent authors. Many of them are stories just like that of Sunseria Jackson.

Jackson is the author of the memoir A Journey of Faith: My Journey from Christianity to Islam. She humbly describes herself as a wife and mother of two, as well as a certified nursing assistant at a children’s hospital.

But if she’s anything else beyond that, she describes it in further detail in her book.

A Journey of Faith details not only Jackson’s life but also puts a particularly strong focus on her journey between Christianity and Islam. Born and raised in Bartow, a small town in central Florida (and considered part of America’s infamous Bible Belt territory), Jackson was raised by a family with the religiosity common among evangelical Protestant areas.

Still, there were things about Christianity that began to make a lot less sense to her as she grew up. And when she lost her mother at a young age, that is when she started to seriously consider other options.

Of course, hers is not an ordinary story, and Jackson honestly shares how her decision to change religions caused as many problems as it offered spiritual solutions. To date, she is still on this journey and simply decided to tell her story so that others in similar situations can also know they are not alone in theirs.

Visitors to the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books 2024 can find Sunseria Jackson’s A Journey of Faith: My Journey from Christianity to Islam displayed at the self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet’s exhibit at booth #225. The festival will be held at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, on April 21-22, 2024. Get a copy on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
