Sony Style Retail Stores To Open In Four New Markets
Nationwide Total Now Stands at 32
SAN DIEGO, March 10, 2006 - Starting today and throughout this month, Sony Electronics will open Sony Style® retail stores in Edison, N.J., Seattle, Indianapolis and Portland, Ore.
With the four new 6,000 square-foot stores, Sony will have added 15 Sony Style stores in high-end fashion malls across the United States during the company’s fiscal year ending March 31.
"The stores give consumers the opportunity to see first-hand our wide array of product offerings" said Dennis Syracuse, senior vice president of consumer retail sales at Sony Electronics. "Each store enables us interact directly with individual consumers to educate them about our products and services, and help them understand how Sony’s technologies can enhance their lives"
Syracuse took note of the stores’ yearlong success, spotlighting record sales during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
"Sales at Sony Style stores were up 28 percent versus the same-store sales the previous holiday shopping weekend" he said.
A showcase for Sony’s most innovative electronics and entertainment offerings, the stores provide consumers hands-on experience with Sony’s family of products, through their multiple demonstration areas.
These areas include a high-definition display wall equipped with HDTV sets and DVD players, as well as a digital imaging gallery with a selection of camcorders, photo printers, digital still cameras, and VAIO® PCs to demonstrate connectivity.
The stores showcase all of Sony’s entertainment merchandise, including the latest CDs from Sony BMG Music, DVD movies from Sony Pictures Entertainment, digital music downloads from Sony CONNECT, and PlayStation 2® consoles and videogames.
With a concierge located at the entrance of each store, personal in-home delivery services and custom installation support, Sony Style retail stores are designed to provide shoppers with the highest level of personalized service.
Now totaling 32, other Sony Style store locations include The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas; Westfield Shoppingtown Garden State Plaza, Paramus, N.J.; Westfield Shoppingtown West County, St. Louis; Fashion Center at Pentagon City, Arlington, Va.; South Coast Plaza, Costa Mesa, Calif.; Beverly Center, Beverly Hills, Calif.; Stanford Shopping Center, Palo Alto, Calif; Mall at Millenia, Orlando, Fla.; Providence Place, Providence, R.I.; The Dallas Galleria, Dallas; Copley Place, Boston; The Houston Galleria, Houston; and The Gardens, Palm Beach, Fla.
