Atlanta’s Northside Hospital Installs Vistamatic’s Low Maintenance Panels in Mulit-million dollar Rennovation Program
Vistamatic, an international designer and manufacturer of observation window systems, has secured a contract to supply their unique low maintenance vision panels for a $5m renovation program to transform 38 surgical patient rooms into bone marrow transplant rooms due to open in February 2010 at Atlanta’s Northside Hospital.
The Blood & Marrow Transplant Program at Northside Hospital is one of the largest clinical transplant programs in the Southeast United States. The Program serves patients undergoing bone marrow/stem cell transplant therapy and provides primary leukemia management.
George Schobloher, Lead Architect from Howell Rusk Dobson state that, due to the nature of the space, it was important to select a product that not only looked good but could be easily cleaned and low maintenance. Says Schobloher: “Vistamatic’s products not only have a clean and modern look, they offer hands free operation of the panels from both sides and the narrow profile of the windows fits perfectly into our doors.”
Renowned for simplicity, durability and refined aesthetics, Vistamatic vision panels consist of three sheets of glass set within an insulated unit, which are operated using Vistamatic’s propriety lever mechanism. When the lever is turned, the inner sheet of glass rise to enable observation and, by turning the handle back, vision is obscured.
