Bids Soar for Rare Spider-Man Comic Book listed to Sell on eBay
AuctionOddball.com, a website which tracks rare auction items on eBay, is reporting bidding has passed $15,000 on day two of a seven day auction, for a rare Spider-Man Comic Book listed to sell on eBay.
The Comic Book, a 1962 Amazing Fantasy #15, marks the first appearance Peter Parker, Spider-Man, and Peters Aunt May and Uncle Ben. (Uncle Ben also dies in the issue) The Comic Book’s highly sought by collectors, particularly those in good condition because of their scarcity.
According to James Massey, publisher of WhatSellsBest.com, a website which tracks highest prices paid for top items sold on eBay. “Bidding reached $34,544 for an Amazing Fantasy #15 just a few days ago, (January 12th, 2010) but it didn’t sell because the high bid didn’t make it past the sellers reserve price.”
