Springer Science+Business Media acquires Uitgeverij Fundament in the Netherlands
Berlin / Leusden, 3 April 2006, Springer Science+Business Media (Springer) has acquired Uitgeverij Fundament (Fundament), the leading Dutch publication for foot-care professionals. Fundament becomes part of Springer Uitgeverij in Leusden, Netherlands.
The acquisition not only enhances Springer’s portfolio of medical titles in the Netherlands, but is also complementary to activities globally. Among other subject areas, Springer is the publisher of books, journals and magazines relating to orthopedics, surgery, diabetes care -- all related to the healing and care of feet.
Michel Veen, Managing Director of Springer Uitgeverij said: “This acquisition nicely expands our professional offering in the Netherlands and enables us to realize content synergies with existing products within Springer. The seven employees of the unit will join Springer Uitgeverij. In 2005, Fundament’s turnover was approximately EUR 800,000.
