SYLVANIA Lights Up Extreme Makeover: Home Edition

Danvers, Mass. (April 7, 2006) – SYLVANIA lit up the ABC hit Extreme Makeover: Home Edition with some of its most popular lighting products. A special “After the Storm” episode of the show featured the renovation and relighting of hurricane-damaged First Emanuel Baptist Church in New Orleans. The church was ravaged by Hurricane Katrina in late August 2005.



“SYLVANIA is proud to be part of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and the relighting of First Emanuel Baptist Church,” said Stephanie Anderson, chief corporate spokesperson. “This SYLVANIA lighting makeover will help the church reestablish community service programs that are badly needed following Hurricane Katrina.”



The renovated church sanctuary is illuminated by SYLVANIA DULUX® compact fluorescent globe bulbs. These attractive and efficient bulbs help beautify the historic worship space and provide valuable electricity savings.



To enhance the décor throughout the church, SYLVANIA donated a year’s supply of SYLVANIA Daylight™ bulbs which provide a vibrant, more natural light. As a finishing touch, the church also received bright, portable DOT∙it™ LED lights, which can be used in closets, bookcases or virtually anywhere light is needed.
