DHL Named the Team’s "Official Express Delivery and Logistics Provider"

In its second season as an official sponsor of Major League Baseball, DHL’s new relationship with the San Francisco Giants brings the number of DHL’s individual club team deals to a total of seven MLB clubs, all in strategic markets for DHL’s U.S. operation.

During the 2006 season, DHL will serve as an "Official Express Delivery and Logistics Provider" of the San Francisco Giants providing a comprehensive range of express shipping and logistics services to meet the team’s domestic and international shipping needs. The agreement also provides for in-stadium signage by DHL throughout AT&T Park, including a matrix board feature, a DHL promotional night complete with fan giveaways, advertising in Giants magazine, and a number of hospitality benefits for DHL customers and employees.
DHL’s relationship with the San Francisco Giants will support the company’s presence in the Bay area and efforts to meet the ever growing needs of customers in the area. DHL’s sponsorship is also part of an internal rewards and recognition program honoring DHL employees’ commitment to superior a customer experience. DHL’s workforce of over 1,600 in the Bay area is eligible to win tickets to regular-season and potential playoff games at AT&T Park.
DHL today also announced that DHL will become the "Official Express Delivery and Logistics Provider" of the Cleveland Indians and the 2005 World Series Champion Chicago White Sox beginning with the 2006 season. These teams are being added to continuing relationships with the Atlanta Braves, New York Mets, Los Angeles Dodgers and Boston Red Sox. DHL will provide each of the clubs with an array of air express, ground and logistics services. The agreements provide for in-stadium signage, a variety of advertising opportunities, DHL promotional nights in the team’s respective ball parks, and a number of hospitality benefits for DHL customers and employees. DHL also serves as the "Official Express Delivery and Logistics Provider" of Major League Baseball and Major League Baseball Advanced Media.
DHL will also be extending the reach of its Major League Baseball platform through relationships with five additional clubs, which will enhance fan awareness of DHL’s partnership with MLB and participation in DHL’s baseball-themed fan initiatives. DHL promotional nights at the Minnesota Twins, St. Louis Cardinals, Houston Astros, Seattle Mariners, and Cincinnati Reds will include fan giveaways, first pitch opportunities, and hospitality benefits.
