- New CR Series compact routers NVISION quality for any budget
- New 9000-SE Routing Control with all-new Java-based configuration application

Grass Valley, CA, April 20, 2006, At NAB 06 (Booth #SU1414), NVISION is featuring the latest in routing systems technology with innovative new products that meet the topperformance, unique, and often complex criteria of broadcast networks, stations, and video production trucks, as well as post production and communication companies. Long considered the gold standard in routing systems and router control, a broad spectrum of companies like Verizon, Turner Broadcasting, ABC New York, PBS, Comcast Sports, ESPN, Fox Sports, NFL Films, Telegenics (UK), Corplex, and Ascent Media to name a few, rely on NVISION systems in their facilities.

NV8288 Digital Video Router: The smallest big router in the world features the first deployment of Gennum s new 3Gb/s HD/SDI chipset in large scale routers that are compliant with the emerging SMPTE 424M standard. The 3Gb/s-capable NV8288 platform was shown privately to customers in the U.S. and Europe in January, and publicly to attendees of the HPA Technology Conference, Palm Springs, in February. Now shipping to global customers, the NV8288 Digital Video Router is specifically designed for use in video production trucks and other applications where space is limited.

NV9000-SE Router Control System: Field proven in hundreds of installations, the NV9000-SE retains its robust and scalable architecture and now includes an all-new Java-based configuration application, which gives users a new simplified, intuitive, and powerful interface. The NV9000-SE makes it easy for first time users to exploit the advanced capabilities of the NV9000 field proven software, while simultaneously providing quick, out-of-the-box experience for basic operations. Wi-Fi GUI control and other distributed control options will be on display.

CR Series of Compact Router Systems: Like the NV8000 Series, the CR series debuts 3 Gb/s HD/SDI operation at this year’s NAB. Redefining compact routers, the expanded CR Series delivers high-performance NVISION quality for budget-conscious applications in broadcast, mobile production, and post-production, and also where compact size and operational simplicity are critical factors. Users can expect an easy out-of-the-box experience for set up and installation, as well as an intuitive easy-to-use GUI. The CR Series can be controlled by an NV9000 control system for integration into large routing systems.

NVISION at Work

Two factors play a role in our ability to develop breakthrough routing systems -- our single focus on innovating routing technology, and listening and responding to our customers about their applications and requirements. Our customers value our commitment to developing leading-edge technology, high-reliability routing and control systems, and unique project solutions that lower total cost of ownership, says Chuck Meyer, president of NVISION. Because of this focused dedication, our list of satisfied customers in the broadcast, post, and communications markets continues to grow at a rapid pace. Superior products, cleanly executed, and developed with advanced technology help put our customers at the forefront of their markets.

The Letterman Digital Arts Center is the home of Lucasfilm Ltd., LucasArts, and Industrial
Light & Magic (ILM): Our mission was to build the world s most advanced digital facility for bringing imagination to life in digital film productions, video games, and other entertainment projects. The main challenge in designing the media infrastructure was enabling huge amounts of data to be transferred to any part of the facility on a moment s notice. This achieves the vision of enabling our digital artists and producers to collaborate internally for creating, editing, and viewing high-resolution digital content, says Gary Meyer, chief engineer at the Letterman Digital Arts Center. NVISION worked with us to design the routing infrastructure and to provide routing systems of excellent quality, versatility, and reliability that also accommodate future expansion. NVISION also backs their products with outstanding service and support. You can t ask for more than that in an equipment vendor.

Turner Broadcasting Systems: The TBS project required HD video and the ability to handle 5.1 surround sound, plus stereo, SAP and DVS. Master Control became a vital need, significant purchase, and critical technical commitment for TBS, with the requirement for a guaranteed 24/7 programming stream to service providers. With the NV5128-MC, NVISION addressed all the Master Control requirements and provided a complete and elegant audio solution, along with a full complement of HD video features.

ABC New York: ABC is working on several key projects with NVISION such as streamlining communications between production, producers and directors for late breaking news and upgrading program origination like Good Morning America to HD while maintaining SD operations.

Corplex: As a leading provider of video production trucks in the U.S. for large TV networks, such as CBS, NBC, Fox, and ESPN, Corplex recently deployed its new 53-foot HD truck with NVISION routing systems. In our business, the routing system is the single, most important piece of equipment on the truck, with reliability, flexibility, and signal quality being imperatives. Our customers demand error-free signal transmission and NVISION helps us make this happen, states Dave Greany, Corplex vice president of engineering.
