Connecticut mold testing lab warns of potential contamination from flooding

Heavy rains and melting snow combined to cause major flooding in several parts of western Connecticut this past weekend. A flood watch remained in effect for Rhode Island, central Massachusetts and eastern Connecticut, including New London and Windham counties until this morning.

Many people have been evacuated from homes and businesses in some areas due to the flooding. Tragically, flood waters have entered countless properties, ruined belongings and soaked building materials. These flooded properties not only have to deal with water damage issues and subsequent mold growth, but also environmental concerns since the flood waters may contain sewage, bacteria and chemical contaminants.
