Munich, May 4, 2006, The Siemens Communications Group has received the Queen’s Award for Enterprise, the United Kingdom’s most high-profile award for business, in the innovation category for its HiPath personal communications portal. The portal enables flexible working for more than 110,000 users in HM Government departments.

The HiPath personal communications portal allows users in HM Government to control their availability, take calls or have calls re-routed to the most convenient device, without the user or caller being aware of any difference in operation or functionality. The Queen’s Award for Enterprise was given in recognition of Siemens’ innovative “Life Works” concept, which removes the barriers between home and corporate communications to deliver a seamless experience regardless of location, network or device.

The Queen’s Award for Enterprise is presented every year to UK businesses that have demonstrated outstanding achievement in one of three categories; international trade, sustainable development and innovation. The awards are given on the recommendation of the Prime Minister, who is assisted by an Advisory Committee that includes representatives of government, industry and commerce, and the trade unions. Siemens Communications is entitled to the award until 2011.

HiPath is the Enterprise Convergence Architecture from Siemens.
