Bank Julius Baer inaugurates new branch in Ascona

Julius Baer, the leading Swiss private banking group, has inaugurated its new offices in Ascona. The new branch, which has been operative since 18 April 2011, has been led by Andreas Zwikirsch since 1 May. It offers the full range of private banking services, including e-banking, payment transactions and credits. The opening further strengthens the Bank’s growing presence in Switzerland as well as Julius Baer’s historical bonds with Ticino as a financial centre.

The opening of the Ascona branch is yet another important step in Julius Baer’s growth strategy and mirrors the importance of Ticino as a financial centre at the shores of Lago Maggiore. The new branch brings Bank Julius Baer closer to its clients at the Sopraceneri – closer to a region which, thanks to its high-class international tourism, is of strategic importance.

At our premises in Ascona’s city centre at Via Borgo 1, the team of experienced, locally rooted specialists offers individual advice and services to sophisticated clients with a wide variety of needs. The experts provide the Group’s whole range of services. In its daily tasks, the team can count on the ongoing support from the specialists in Lugano. Branch Manager Andreas Zwikirsch (40) is a Certified Tax Expert, who gained broad experience in this respect at PricewaterhouseCoopers. During the last ten years, he held many important positions in the area of financial counselling at Credit Suisse Group in Ascona, Locarno, Hong Kong and London.
