AGA signs major Nordic agreement with Telenor
(Fornebu, 9 May 2006): Gas supplier AGA has chosen Telenor to be its total supplier of telephony services for the company’s operations in Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland.
The agreement with AGA’s Northern European region is worth NOK 15 million a year. The decisive factor for AGA was the requirement that the chosen telecommunications supplier meet the company’s communication needs in Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland. Telenor met the requirements for a single Nordic telecommunications provider and will supply both fixed and mobile telephony to AGA throughout the Nordic region. In Finland, Telenor’s business partner Elisa will be responsible for deliveries.
"Telenor’s acquisition of Vodafone in Sweden enables us to enter into an agreement which covers all four countries for both fixed and mobile telephony", says Jostein Thomassen, IT Director for AGA.
"This agreement with AGA reinforces Telenor’s role as a Nordic supplier of total communication solutions. We are now able to provide mobile telephony, fixed telephony and advanced data communication solutions from our own companies to Nordic clients in Norway, Sweden and Denmark - and to supplement our portfolio with our excellent collaboration with the Finnish company Elisa", says Morten Karlsen Sørby, CEO and head of Telenor’s operations in the Nordic region.
