Imtech acquires industrial maintenance from Emmtec Services

10 May 2006, Gouda - Imtech N.V. (technical services provider in Europe ) announces the acquisition of the Industrial Maintenance unit of Emmtec Services (part of Nuon Business), including all current activities and maintenance contracts . The unit, which employs some 70 staff, provides industrial services for the companies located at the EMMTEC Industry & Business Park in Emmen. The acquisition fits in with Imtech’s strategy of further growth in the industrial market in the Netherlands and makes a direct contribution to the earnings per share.

Imtech is one of the strongest players in the Dutch industrial market, and sets itself apart through the added value it provides in the field of contracting, engineering, technical systems, maintenance and automation. The acquisition will further reinforce Imtech’s portfolio, expanding its activities in the field of mechanical engineering maintenance services.

Emmtec Services’ Industrial Maintenance unit is specialised in mechanical engineering maintenance and servicing of industrial machinery, such as fitting and overhauling pumps, drive units, valves, machine components and industrial piping. These activities are carried out both on the customer’s premises and in the company’s own modern workplace. The unit is located at the EMMTEC Industry & Business Park in Emmen. This is the largest industrial estate in the north-east of the Netherlands, housing concerns such as DSM, Teijin Twaron, Diolen, Colbond and Wellman. Imtech is already actively engaged with these businesses, and will integrate the new organisation’s expertise with its existing industrial service activities. This integration means Imtech will be in an even better position to offer its customers complete technical services concepts.

Imtech Projects, which employs almost 3,500 people and generates revenues of almost 500 million euro on annual base, is one of the major Dutch technical services providers. The company has thirty branches in the Netherlands. The Industrial Maintenance unit of Emmtec will be managed by the regional office for the north-eastern division of Imtech Projects (branches in Coevorden, Groningen, Leeuwarden, Hengelo and Arnhem).
