A Celebration of Dogs in Art: Join Us for Barkfest at Bonhams
-Barkfest at Bonhams - An Art-Viewing Event for You and Your Dog!
-Sunday, February 10, 2013 from 10 a.m. to Noon at 580 Madison Avenue
Save the date! Bring your dog and join the AKC Humane Fund at the Barkfest at Bonhams, a charity brunch on February 10, 2013 to preview an exquisite collection of dog art before it all goes to auction Bonhams New York. Held the morning before the Westminster Kennel Club’s annual dog show, it is an opportunity to view beautiful dogs on canvas before seeing them in the show ring.
Dog and art lovers are invited to enjoy a light brunch and an exclusive preview of Dogs in Show and Field: The Fine Art Sale, featuring works such as William Henry Hamilton Trood’s 19th century piece Wait ‘til the clouds roll by. The Barkfest at Bonhams on Sunday, February 10th offers friends of the AKC Humane Fund and their dogs time to enjoy the collection before the pieces are sold at auction on February 13, 2013.
“We are pleased to be offering this event with Bonhams, celebrating purebred dogs past and present,” said AKC Humane Fund Chairman and President Dennis Sprung. “It is a unique opportunity to enjoy the art with our own canine companions close by and support a charitable cause at the same time.”
All proceeds from Barkfest at Bonhams will benefit the AKC Humane Fund Inc., a 501(c)(3) charity which promotes the joy and value of responsible pet ownership through education, outreach and grant-making. Admission to the brunch is a $50 advance donation ($60 at the door) to the AKC Humane Fund. For reservations, contact AKC’s reservation line at 212-696-8306 or reserve your spot online.
