Elemental Connects Customers to the Future of Multiscreen Video at IBC 2013

Company to highlight advances in 10-bit HEVC, 4Kp60 and cloud-based video processing

Portland, Ore. – Elemental Technologies, the leading supplier of video solutions for multiscreen content delivery, today announced plans to showcase significant advances in video processing at the annual IBC exhibition in Amsterdam, September 13-17.

Software-upgradable video processing solutions from Elemental help pay TV operators, content programmers and broadcasters effectively deliver high-quality linear and on-demand multiscreen video to end users on any device. Elemental technology and product demonstrations at IBC will focus on advances critical to the future of multiscreen video delivery, including real-time HEVC video processing both on the ground and in the cloud.

Elemental will demonstrate the capabilities of its complete product suite in Hall 4 on stand 4.B75 at the RAI Conference Centre. Activities and highlights include:

• HEVC Video Compression – The rapid innovation and performance advantages of Elemental’s software-based architecture will be on full display with recent advances in HEVC video compression, including an end-to-end, 10-bit video processing pipeline and full frame rate HEVC encoding. Demonstrations will include 4Kp60 10-bit Ultra HD HEVC processing using Elemental® Server, real-time 1080p60 HEVC encoding using Elemental® Live and live HEVC encoding via Elemental® Cloud.
• Video Processing in the Cloud – The infrastructure-agnostic flexibility of Elemental’s unified software approach will be showcased in a variety of live and file based workflows running on the Elemental Cloud platform. Support for on-premise, pure cloud, and hybrid encoding solutions allows customers to optimize their video operations. Demonstrations will include cloud bursting scenarios, where peaks in video processing demand are absorbed by resources in the cloud. Elemental Cloud offers a comprehensive feature set for premium content conversion, including captioning, multi-language support and the ability to input and output a wide array of professional video formats. Integration with Aspera high-speed file transfer will also be featured.
• Content Monetization – The maturity of Elemental’s partner ecosystem will be evident with support for an array of monetization strategies. Elemental will demonstrate technologies, including Elemental® Stream, that help customers protect and monetize content in a multiscreen ecosystem, such as forensic watermarking, encryption, CAS/DRM, targeted ad insertion, ad removal, ad blanking, DVB subtitles, open captions and audio normalization.
• Unified Workflow Management – The reliability and robustness of Elemental’s solution suite is anchored by its unified management system, Elemental® Conductor. The system centralizes management of all Elemental video processing deployments and will be shown controlling end-to-end workflows including encoding and packaging across ground and cloud-based resources.
