EMSL Analytical, Inc. strengthens its cGMP Portfolio

EMSL Analytical, Inc., a nationally recognized full service testing laboratory, has added the MALDI-TOF (Matrix Assisted Laser Desorption Ionization Time-of-Flight) system to its growing cGMP platform. The system reduces the time to identify microorganisms from days to minutes.

Bacterial and fungal identification are crucial to confirm and guide corrective actions in the production of consumable products manufactured by pharmaceutical, cosmetic and food industries. Using mass spectrometry technology to identify bacteria and yeast saves a significant amount of time versus the traditional identification methods. This extremely sensitive system provides a high level of accuracy above many of the current state-of-the-art techniques.

When utilized to support compendia microbiological testing, MALDI-TOF microbial identification can assist in determining the customer’s next course of action by providing accurate, reliable identification of isolates. This is just one more tool EMSL’s analysts use for compliance testing in order to meet the needs of our customers.
