An Idyllic Summer Story Featured in the 2016 Beijing International Book Fair

A woman and her family experience an unlikely summer in Marjorie Worster Thibodeau’s book, Once upon a Summer: The Summer of 1889 on Mount Desert Island. This book was showcased in the Beijing International Book Fair last August 24–28, 2016.

Once upon a Summer is set in the summer of 1889. Wilhelmina Tuckerman and her family are asked to spend their vacation in Mount Desert Island by her father. Not exactly keen on the idea, the family are caught off guard by the beauty that greets them when their steamship docks on Frenchman Bay. In the little town called Eden, the family begins an exciting summer and finds hidden wonders. For Wilhelmina, her summer becomes extra-special when she befriends a young Indian girl. Together, they embark on many adventures.
