A Letter to Heaven, Part 1: The Loss by Rev. Dennel B. Tyon

“A Letter to Heaven shares the raw emotion of losing a loved one and the difficulty of moving on with life without them. It chronicles all the stages of grief as I went through it and holds on to hope even when all seems hopeless. Although it is a story of death, it is also a story about life.” - Rev. Dennel B. Tyon, Author

There is nothing more difficult than losing a loved one, and when Dennel lost her only sister and sibling, LeDon, she struggled to cope with the loss. It was her faith alone that got her through the darkest time of her life. A Letter to Heaven, Part 1: The Loss is the beginning of her journey of healing.

Encompassing the first seven years after her sister’s death, this book reflects upon memories past and future hopes. Despite the pain, Dennel’s faith in God never wavered, even spurring her to ministry. The words written to her departed sister exude faith and serve as a heartwarming eulogy to a woman who touched many lives and offer hope to those going through similar circumstances.

The first of a four-part series, Part 1 documents historical events, like the September 11 attacks, and demonstrates the resilience of the human spirit to overcome tragedy and suffering. A chapter is written for those lost on that fateful day and those who loved them. It speaks directly to the children who lost their parents, and encourages them to write their own “letters” to heaven.
