Braskem presents free tool for calculation of drainage networks

WEBWIRE

Committed to bringing solutions that help customers, Braskem supported the development of a program that assists in the calculation of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) drainage networks. A unique tool in the market, it contains a vast database and was created in a modern and functional platform: BIM (Building Information Modeling).

The program is intended for designers of drainage networks in general, both in urban environments and on highways, railways, and parking areas. The plug-in can be downloaded free of charge on the Internet and installed on AutoCAD (2D) and Revit (3D), two of the most popular software applications for project calculation.

The use of the tool in BIM facilitates the monitoring of the work at its various stages, in addition to making the process much more transparent as a whole. “The differentiator is precisely in the BIM, which allows each component added to the network during its dimensioning to upload a set of information that may range from the manufacturer’s data and cost, at the budget stage, to the date of installation and validity of the component at the maintenance stage,” explained Jorge Alexandre, from Braskem’s Market Development area.

The tool can be downloaded for free on the PICPlast (Plastics Chain Incentive Plan) website:www.picplast.com.br/ferramentas .
