One year of Fleetboard Logistics – HABBL goes global

  • HABBL Task expands its range of applications – app and web portal rebranded and given new user interface
  • Fleetboard Logistics sets sights on growth with HABBL
  • Internationalisation to begin in Brazil
  • HABBL Task launched for non-logistics applications as well
  • New branding and new website

New features, a new look and new markets – HABBL is taking bold leaps forward. HABBL has been a Daimler Truck AG brand for only a year, but the mobile product has already evolved dramatically. The most important change: the creation of HABBL Task, which powers HABBL workflows in all mobile areas of application. The app now supports production-related operations such as warehousing as well as service and maintenance processes, for example. HABBL Task also coordinates the deployment of field service personnel through a web portal. Its features have proven particularly useful in construction, facility management and the service sector.

New look for new markets

Demand in Germany has been strong, and so the time has come to internationalise HABBL. Fleetboard Logistics has expanded its German consulting and implementation team so it can handle the intense interest in the logistics solution. It has also rebranded HABBL – including launching a new logo – in preparing to enter new markets. As part of that effort, the company’s developers have updated the user interface (UI) of the app and web portal. The most striking changes have been a new colour scheme with updated icons to make the software more intuitive and user-friendly.

HABBL users who want to test-drive a beta version with the new look and feel can reach out to their contacts in Sales. A final update will be automatically rolled out to current customers in June with more new features being released over time following a comprehensive information campaign. In addition, the HABBL website has been refreshed with a new look and new content as part of the rebranding drive.

Market entry in Brazil

Fleetboard Logistics will start offering the application to its first users outside Germany in March. The company has chosen Brazil as the beachhead in its internationalisation push. Here, HABBL will be sold by Fleetboard digital experts, who have recruited one of Brazil’s largest logistics providers to act as a pilot customer with full-lorry-load and less-than-lorry-load shipments. As a digital order management system with track and trace functionality, HABBL represents a major innovation. Most Brazilian freight forwarders operate large fleets that generally consist of lorries operated by self-employed drivers. Unfortunately, these owner-operators receive minimal information about their orders from the paper processes currently widely used in Brazil. That presents problems when integrating new drivers. Moreover, customers and freight forwarders also receive little to no progress reports on the transport itself, which makes it difficult to plan downstream processes. “Since HABBL provides real-time information on all vehicles, we will be raising the bar for excellence in Brazil and rapidly accelerating the digitisation of road transport,” noted Fleetboard Logistics Managing Director Harald Marx. In addition, HABBL will start being rolled out into other European countries in 2020. Organisational and legal preparations are already underway.
