MPC goes vertical on Highland Development Company’s Traverse multifamily project at West Line Village
Martines Palmeiro Construction (MPC) broke ground, as general contractor, in February on Highland Development Company’s first ground-up apartment community in the Denver area, an integral addition to the West Line Village development near Sheridan Station. The project is going vertical with concrete at the garage, with the lower level garage walls beginning this week. Upon completion of the lower two levels of the garage, concrete will be poured for the apartment areas while the garage pre-cast is being completed.
“We are excited to start seeing this project come to life! We thrive working hand-in-hand with clients, building relationships and tailoring cost-effective project delivery solutions like the Traverse project,” said Steve Clouten, Vice President of Operations. “The West Line Village community and Two Creeks Neighborhood Association care deeply about having a good, quality project added to the landscape.”
The Traverse Apartments will be a five-story building that will include a swimming pool, hot tub, rooftop patio, courtyard lounge areas, clubhouse, business center, fitness center, media room, pet spa and business center space. The development will come with 362 parking spaces and will be located adjacent to the Sheridan Station, at 1198 Sheridan Blvd. Residents of the apartment complex will have close access to the Lakewood Dry Gulch trail for pedestrian and bicycle connections.
“West Line Village is an energetic, transit-oriented community, anchored between the Rockies and the city, where downtown Denver is just five stops away, it’s a modern haven that has something to offer urban dwellers and outdoor enthusiasts alike,” said Bin Lu, MPC’s Vice President of Preconstruction, “The addition of Traverse will bring a class A multi-family property to Lakewood, and open up housing options.”
The construction of Traverse Apartments, in partnership with Trailbreak Partners and T.O.D. Properties, is slated to open in early 2022. KTGY Architecture + Planning designed the project.
