Resolution Games Launches Blaston, Brings Intense PvP Shooter Action to Virtual Reality

You’ve been challenged to a duel! Following its earlier success with VR games such as Angry Birds VR: Isle of Pigs, Bait!, and the recently released Cook-Out: A Sandwich Tale, Resolution Games has today launched the 12th title in the company’s portfolio, Blaston (trailer). A futuristic multiplayer game of PvP combat, Blaston is now available for Oculus Quest for $9.99 USD and will be coming to Steam with support for HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, Valve Index and Windows Mixed Reality headsets as well as VR arcades in the coming months. Blaston calls for a combination of skill, strategy and speed, and equips players with an incredible arsenal of futuristic, high-tech weapons to rise through the ranks and become a champion in this game of cyberpunk dueling action. Unlike other competitive multiplayer VR experiences, Blaston blends slow motion shooting with a high rate of firepower and close-range combat to create a bullet-hell experience that’s personal, tactical, and unlike anything players have experienced previously in VR. 

Today’s announcement comes on the heels of several major senior leadership additions to the Resolution Games team, with heavy hitters such as Tom Hall (best known for Wolfenstein, DOOM, and Rise of the Triad) and Mike Booth (creator of Left 4 Dead, Counter-Strike: Condition Zero and Nox) joining the studio as it shapes the next generation of VR games.

In Blaston, opponents go head-to-head from the confines of a gladiator-like jousting platform. A variety of re-spawning futuristic high-tech weapons will help fuel these one-on-one battles as players continuously dodge, duck and weave to evade incoming attacks, all while looking for the perfect opening to land the ultimate kill shot on their opponent. But it doesn’t stop there.
