Award-Winning Novelist Carla Ohse Launches the Second Edition of Her Fictional Novel ”Into the Hand of a Woman”

Human trafficking affects around 40.3 million individuals, according to data. 65 percent of these persons are women, with 19 percent of these women being minors. Human trafficking is a constant struggle, yet it is frequently pushed to the sidelines for many reasons.

Ohse’s book, “Into the Hand of a Woman” is an attempt to raise awareness of the worldwide problem of human trafficking, particularly women trafficking.

The protagonist of the narrative is Judge Deborah Miller, a strong-willed lady modeled on Deborah, the fourth judge of pre-monarchic Israel and the only female judge at the time. Judge Miller becomes engrossed in the author’s imagined quagmires of a criminal organization led by renegade Israeli officer Sisera. Deborah, with another Bible-based character, Lieutenant Barak Cohen, fights the exploitation of Israeli women in order to fulfill a God-given mission: to vanquish the evil Sisera and set the downtrodden free.

The book is a fast-paced mix of biblical allusions, romance, and current events. Reader’s Favorite, one of the most prestigious book review organizations, praised both the book and Ohse, awarding them second place and a silver medal in the Readers’ Favorite 2013 International Book Award Contest.

About the Author:

Carla Ohse lives with her husband, Robert in the villages of Custer and Fountain in Western Michigan. Carla graduated from Michigan State University in 1963 with a Bachelor Arts degree and taught at Mason County Eastern School in Custer, Michigan.

When children, Ryan, Margaretha and George came along, Carla chose to be full-time mom. The couple has farmed in Mason County for over fifty years, and as of this writing, Robert is still farming and now with the help of grown children, grandchildren and anyone who would listen to the love of a man who manages this good earth to the best of his ability.

This is Carla Ohse’s third novel. Her novels are women based with subject matter that invites both genders of all ages to read.
