When they arrive on land, it continues to describe life in the harsh settlement of Sydney. The happiness, tragedy, hardship, and heartbreak encountered when circumstances force them to separate, and a poignant story of a man against the elements when they try to reunite.

“May Fortune Smile” is the second book of the trilogy, following the saga of Penelope and Thomas Watts and family. In this novel, as a result of Tom’s surprise inheritance, he moves his family, by steamship, to the Clarence River, in northern New South Wales. This novel traces the love of these two people, their family and their battle with the river, environs, and how they survive new challenges confronting them as pioneers in Australia.

“Time May Tell” is the third book in a trilogy set in the 1870s, following the story of Thomas and Penelope Watts and family in their attempts, with the help of their daughter, Louisa, and their son, Christopher to battle the elements of a tough environment. It traces the Watts family tragedies, disasters, heartbreaks, all, in their bid to find happiness.
