Latitude Launches New Online Game Platform Powered by Artificial Intelligence

Creator of AI Dungeon launches new subscription-based platform for playing and creating AI-powered experiences

Provo, Utah – WEBWIRE

Provo, Utah – Feb. 16, 2022 – Latitude, developer of the popular AI Dungeon, an infinite text adventure powered by AI, announced today the open beta launch of Voyage, an online platform that will allow users to discover, play, and create a variety of new experiences generated by artificial intelligence.

Voyage represents a new phase in the company’s development and an expansion of offerings beyond the flagship AI Dungeon title. Starting with four new experiences – Pixel This, Things, Loom, and Medieval Problems – the Voyage platform will allow users to discover, play, and eventually create experiences that are infinite and dynamic, enabled by artificial intelligence.

“Since Latitude was founded, our mission has been to make AI a tool of creativity and freedom for everyone,” said Nick Walton, CEO and Co-Founder of Latitude. “Voyage represents the next generation of that vision. The experiences we have in store are designed to bring magic and delight to players in new and unique ways.”

The first new experience available at Voyage’s launch is Pixel This, a twist on Pictionary where users type in a concept for an image (for example: dog wearing a cowboy hat) and the game slowly reveals an AI-generated rendering of the concept that is unique each time. Other players try to be the first to correctly guess what the image will be.

Things, another of the experiences, is a game where players can bootstrap their own universe from the bottom up. Starting with elements like protons and electrons, they combine their ‘things’ in a network of recipes until they can create anything imaginable. For example, a user may combine “camera” with “celebrity” to create “influencer”. Because the combinations are decided by an AI there are an infinite number of possibilities.

More of a writing tool than a game, Loom is a twist on the AI-generated story experience of AI Dungeon with branching storylines. Users can use AI to generate a branching multiverse tree of story possibilities. They can explore what would have happened if they took a different branch, or create different storylines for different characters.

The final experience available at Voyage’s launch is Medieval Problems, an experience where users embody a medieval king who must solve problems within their kingdom. Solutions are limited only to a player’s imagination with the AI providing unique, and often hilarious, responses. The ultimate goal is to grow a safe and prosperous kingdom using flexible and creative problem-solving.

“The launch of Voyage marks an exciting evolution for Latitude,” according to Ryan Seamons, VP of Product. “It’s a shift from being a single-game company to a platform using AI to redefine the future of gaming.”

Additional games, as well as creator tools, are expected to be released on Voyage in the first half of 2022. Users can get access to Voyage by signing up for a subscription-based membership at voyage.latitude.io
