The sci-fi mystery novel “Moon Luck” by Wayne Scott Harral will be featured at the LA Times Festival in Spring 2022
Wayne Scott Harral, author of “Moon Luck” (ReadersMagnet, 2021), will be featured at the LA Times Festival of Books in Spring 2022. This book tells the story of a very diverse and international team of astronaut-scientists and astronaut-explorers growing plants on the moon, exploring and discovering mineral ores, conducting experiments and research, and developing animosities as well as close relationships with their colleagues.
Everything was well on the moon, until one day while they were carrying out their daily routines of Moon-based exploration, one of the base’s senior members, Bruce Holmann, dies in what appears to be an accident. He was in the maintenance and repair (or “tool shed”) module of the station repairing the lunar rover’s damaged gearbox when a small explosion punctured the module’s wall, causing it to depressurize.
Holmann was hit by a slew of shrapnel as a result of the explosion, and his blood boiled as a result of the depressurization, killing him instantly. The story follows the trail to find the true perpetrator, leaving us to wonder, “Was it murder, and if it was, is it murder if it happens in the Moon?”
Take a sneak peek, as Harral’s new release “Moon Luck” will take you on a factual-based adventure of hushed conspiracies, secrets, and well-hidden negative emotions as they are revealed, giving readers a glimpse into the minds of people that are isolated on the Moon and what it might be like to contend with the killing of one of their own.
According to Seattle Book Review, “Harral has clearly done a great deal of research into current space technology and likely future developments, as the space station, the astronauts’ projects, and all the related technologies are described in convincing detail.”
A 5-star Amazon review that has hooked many readers, where “the author generated an engaging story through his thoughtful character development, in depth research, and creative story line,” Michael commented. While the book is truly unique with its advanced technologies and makes some exciting leaps into the future, he believes it is accessible to readers who have no knowledge of current and future research in the areas, but remains enthralling to them.
