Barnes & Noble Opens Tanasbourne Town Center Store on Wednesday, August 31

Barnes & Noble is thrilled to announce the opening of its bookstore in Hillsboro, OR on Wednesday, August 31.  The new Barnes & Noble in Tanasbourne Town Center, across the street from the old location and next to Best Buy, features a brilliant new bookstore design that has been trialed so successfully in the bookseller’s most recent new store openings.  This location will carry a large assortment of books, puzzles, stationery, toys and gifts for readers and will also host a Barnes & Noble Café.

The new store will officially open to the public with a ribbon-cutting by bestselling Young Adult author Aiden Thomas at 9:00 AM.  Aiden Thomas’s Cemetery Boys received many accolades, including a finalist for the National Book Awards for Young People’s Literature and being crowned one of Barnes & Noble’s Best Books of 2020.  The author’s forthcoming The Sunbearer Trials will go on sale on September 6.  Aiden Thomas will be conducting a signing for all interested in attending the grand opening.

The new bookstore replaces the Barnes & Noble nearby location in Tanasbourne, which closed last October.  Store Manager, Suzy Irvin, and her seasoned team of enthusiastic booksellers have been hard at work building their grand bookstore that is sure to appeal to the Tanasbourne community.

Barnes & Noble has enjoyed remarkable success since 2019 when its ownership changed and 30-year veteran bookseller, James Daunt, was appointed CEO. Barnes & Noble empowers each individual bookselling team to build their bookstore in a way that will best appeal to their local clientele, an approach Daunt applies to his own independent bookstore that he opened in 1990. This new approach to bookselling brings respect for local knowledge that is at the heart of the best bookshops.  Mystery & Thriller, Horror, Romance and Children’s Books, plus Hispanic interests and an expansive Manga Shop full of books and complementary collectibles, will all have featured displays in the Tanasbourne location.
