Carl Kegerreis was born in Indiana in 1939. His father was a United Methodist Minister and lived in Hudson, Monroe, Leesburg, Union City, and Knightstown, Indiana. He was taught Red Cross swimming, diving, and lifesaving, and was a lifeguard at Union City, Knightstown, and Greenfield pools during high school and college.
He attended North Manchester College and Ball State University, and during his junior year, he was drafted by the U.S. Army. He trained army Sentry Dogs and as a Security Sgt., was responsible for the continuous training at the Indiana and Ohio Missile bases.
He retired after working 33 years in the CSX Transportation Railroad Police Dept. He was a Lt., Captain, Division Chief, and President of the Pennsylvania, Indiana, and Ohio, Railroad Police Associations.
He was married to Sandy, his wife of 58 years, and has been blessed with 3 children and 5 grandchildren. He lives in Ohio.
