“Duoday” initiative - Air France invites 31 people with disabilities to discover one of the company’s professions

WEBWIRE

Air France took part in the fifth edition of “Duoday”, a European initiative supported by the French government to change the way we look at disability. By offering the person with disabilities the opportunity to work together in pairs with a company member of staff, Duoday promotes a mutually rewarding experience and helps to deconstruct stereotypes in the business world.

On this day, 31 people with a disability were able to experience a day in the working life of company pilots, air hostesses, mechanics, ground agents and ramp agents. And these company staff were able to share their professional backgrounds and passion for their work.

Air France’s participation in Duoday illustrates the company’s actions promoting the employment of people with disabilities in all its areas of activity. Air France has been committed to this cause for more than 30 years and has made the employment of workers with a disability a central part of its human resources policy.

As the largest private employer in the Paris region with over 38,000 employees, Air France employs some 2,000 staff with a disability in 2022. Every year, the company initiates over 200 actions promoting access to employment, liaising with disability correspondents in each division.

Beyond the figures, Air France is committed on a daily basis to -

•             recruiting people with disabilities,
•            integrating, supporting and keeping these people in employment by adapting their workstation,
•             using the protected and adapted sector,
•             raising awareness among managers and staff.
