For Boulton, his book was written at the Lord’s command. It is filled with spiritual principles passed on to him in the last 45 years. He had witnessed many inmates set free as they welcomed each truth into their lives.
His beloved Annie went home as an angel of the Lord in 2016. In the few weeks before that, she showed a genuine calmness of mind that was contradictory to her health or circumstances. Because of this oddity, Boulton looked through her personal belongings and there he found the source of her peace. It was a message that read “Stop holding on and be held by the loving arms of Jesus.” He observed Ann’s inner tranquility during her last days and especially during her nine-day stay in the hospital.
He was enlightened through a vision sent to him, the pierced hand of Jesus gripping Ann’s hand. With that came motivation for him to write a book that he can share as a gift to the world.
Boulton narrates the journey that he and his wife had walked in their life together, following the righteous path. “Grip of Heaven” is illuminating and edifies the virtues that our Lord would have wanted to see in each of his followers.
Sometimes people have to let go and let Jesus take the wheel, to lead them where they are meant to be.
