Author Bio
Vincent M. Riccardi, M.D is a clinician, scientist, teacher, and poet. He was born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1940 and moved to Southern California with his family in 1947. Dr. Riccardi graduated from Georgetown University Medical School on June 6, 1966. He obtained his genetics fellowship at Harvard Medical School and the Massachusetts Hospital. From 1970 to 1971, he served as a major in the U.S. Army Medical Corps.

Dr. Riccardi is the founder of The Neurofibromatosis Institute. His extensive work and studies on neurofibromatosis (NF) helped countless NF patients and inspired several clinical research projects. He has more than a dozen publications, including a book about NF.

In 2015, Dr. Riccardi surrendered his medical license. He began writing poems while still in medical school until today. He had a powerful connection to Ludwig Wittgenstein, a linguistic philosopher.
