Massage Therapist Lynn Dubois’s Memoir “The Listening Touch” is Displayed at LibLearnX 2023

Self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet successfully exhibited the health memoir “The Listening Touch: A Hands-on Gift” by Lynn Dubois at LibLearnX: The Library Learning Experience on January 27–30, 2023, at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, New Orleans, LA.

Lynn Dubois’ first memoir, “The Listening Touch,” gives readers who have never had a massage, as well as those who receive massages regularly a practitioner’s point of view. This book summarizes Lynn’s own description of her mentors and peers.

Lynn’s experience of training to become a licensed massage therapist after spending years in an office job rife with long hours in front of a computer, constant stress, and long hours on the phone. She believes that massage therapy would be useful in any profession, but only certain people would enjoy practicing it.

This book is a compilation of Lynn’s thoughts on the people who have inspired her and helped her along the way. By illuminating the therapeutic effects of touch, she proves the efficacy of massage therapy.

Lynn grew up in rural Ohio. She and her husband, Ernie, reside in North Georgia. She is a massage therapist who attended the Dayton School of Medical Massage. From there, the adventure of massage therapy has taken her on a journey spanning twenty-plus years. She shares some of her experiences as a massage therapist learning different techniques like reflexology, active isolated stretching, and myoskeletal alignment.

She spent two years learning cranial-sacral therapy levels I through IV to develop her own listening touch. Her discovery of massage therapy has taken her halfway around the world to Thailand to experience Swe-Thai and Thai foot massage, going back to the roots of massage while keeping up with the times to help people who come to see her for the myriad of health concerns they may have.

For relaxation, she likes to do vegetable and flower gardening to get her hands and feet in the dirt to detox and keep her grounded. It has been a memorable journey that she wanted to share with readers.
