Berlinale Spotlight: Berlinale Shorts at the Format Court Festival in Paris
With its specially curated programmes, the Berlinale has been present around the world for many years. The Berlinale Spotlight extends the festival period and makes the activities of the Berlinale visible throughout the year.
For the first time, Berlinale Shorts will present a short film programme at the Format Court festival in Paris (April 13 to 16, 2023): Berlinale Spotlight: Berlinale Shorts. The festival is organised by the eponymous website (www.formatcourt.com), whose 4,000+ videos, reports and film reviews are an important resource on international short film for French-speaking filmmakers, short film enthusiasts and industry tradespeople.
Anna Henckel-Donnersmarck, head of Berlinale Shorts, will attend the festival to present the films to the audience, in some cases joined by some of the filmmakers. “We’re very pleased to be working together with Format Court, which has dedicated itself in so many ways, and with such excellent quality, to short film,” she says.
The programme was curated in cooperation with Format Court, and comprises four short films from the 2021 festival and this year’s festival, including Les chenilles, the 2023 winner of the Golden Bear for Best Short Film.
