Experience a Vietnam War soldier’s journey from a KA-BAR to the Cross.

Carson Brannan, author of “The Third Option,” published “From a KA-BAR to the Cross.” This action-adventure and faith book tells how Sergeant Kenneth Wilson of the Elite U.S. Army Green Berets became Reverend Kenneth Paul Wilson, a preacher in a little white church in East Tennessee.

“From a KA-BAR to the Cross” starts with the story of a boy who grew up in a rough neighborhood in the streets of Los Angeles, California. When he was twelve, he lost his two best friends to gang violence. He joined the U.S. Army after high school. He was a good soldier and exceptional in using his KA-BAR, a knife used for cutting wood, cloth, or ropes. KA-Bar, which is a nine-inch long knife, is primarily used to cut and rip flesh. It happens to be a soldier’s last line of defense against an enemy.

Sergeant Kenneth Wilson was tough, and he fought in the Vietnam War. Whenever he got his rest and recreation, he spent it on merry-making, drinking, and chasing women. Sergeant Wilson loved his KA-Bar, which he used multiple times during combat.

Carson Brannan narrates how a soldier gave up his KA-Bar for a cross. Sergeant Wilson later took on an exciting journey to become Reverend Wilson. When he preached his Memorial Day sermons Reverend Wilson dedicated them to the brave men and women who didn’t make it back from Vietnam.

As a Navy veteran who fought in Vietnam in 1969, Carson Brannan dedicates his book to the memory of his comrade and good friend, Dan Goodman.
