Antoinetta Vogels has Dutch nationality and was born right after World War II. As a little girl, she witnessed the ruins in her city and was exposed to the horror stories of the Holocaust, which made her vow to do something, anything, to help wars stop once and for all. Later, her career as an accomplished musician in several renowned symphony orchestras came to a halt with the sudden onset of severe insomnia at the birth of her first daughter.
