CAA-Backed Hume Metastar, angelbaby, Collabs with PRETTYMUCH On New Single and Music Video

Hume, an entertainment company pushing the boundaries of virtual artists and music, announced today that its chart-topping metastar angelbaby has released a new single ‘Before You’ featuring PRETTYMUCH. This drop marks the first time virtual and physical artists have worked together.

The inception of “Before You” took place during Hume’s writing camp in December 2022, where PRETTYMUCH’s own Brandon Arreaga was in attendance. His active participation in the song’s creation paved the way for a collaboration between angelbaby and the entire PRETTYMUCH band. They integrated PRETTYMUCH’s distinctive musical stylings into the song, amplifying its reach and emotional depth. As a result, “Before You” delves into the universal experience of uncertainty and realization when a relationship reaches a crossroads, resonating with audiences of all backgrounds.

“It was an inspiring creative process working with angelbaby and the Hume team. The final song is a creative representation of angelbaby and the band’s unique musical style,” said Brandon Arreaga, PRETTYMUCH singer and songwriter. “Together, PRETTYMUCH and angelbaby are pushing the boundaries of what it means to be a ’boyband’ or a ’virtual artist, and we’re proud to be at the forefront of it all.“

PRETTYMUCH is an LA-based American-Canadian band created in 2016 when Syco Music founder Simon Cowell and former label president Sonny Takhar merged the five solo artists into a group. The band has since released one studio album, 25 singles and 23 music videos, and has been nominated for multiple MTV Video Music Awards and Teen Choice Awards. The single with angelbaby follows their debut independent album release and is the band’s very first collaboration with a virtual artist.

In addition to the song, angelbaby and PRETTYMUCH will be releasing a music video. A new clip from the video will be released every week on Twitter beginning Friday, June 16, culminating in the full video later this summer.

This single drop comes on the heels of Hume producing a song with Grimes-AI this past May as one of the first examples of creating an AI voice model in a way that is fully approved by the artist. Additionally, Hume announced in January they signed with leading entertainment and sports agency, Creative Artists Agency (CAA). CAA is helping Hume identify and create opportunities across a variety of areas, including licensing and merchandising, brand partnerships, live events, film, television and more.
