Hope Murphy’s “I Am Loved: The Gift” was displayed at the 2023 Los Angeles Times Festival of Books, which was held on April 22-23, 2023, at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles. The book’s display was made possible by the self-publishing and book marketing company, ReadersMagnet.

“I Am Loved: The Gift” follows a boy named Matthew, who gets out of school for Christmas and starts a new adventure. He goes with his mother to visit his grandfather at the hospital. There he meets another boy named Nicholas, and a new-found friendship ensues. Both of them get to learn more about the meaning of Christmas.

The book talks about friendship and kindness as the characters spend their time at Christmas time. Young readers can have their adventure as they get lost in the story in the pages. The book uses simple words that kids can understand easily. With captivating illustrations by David Gnass, kids can get into the world of Christmas and friendship.

Kids will also be exposed to scriptures that provide lessons for the kids to take away. They get to have ideas about the message of love and friendship from the Bible. As the characters discover the meaning of Christmas, the readers can also learn the importance of compassion and camaraderie.

The author uses a compelling children’s story to let the kids know that being good to others will reward them with something greater. The story explores sacrificing one’s own wants to help others.

Author’s Biography

Hope Murphy is a new author of Christian children’s books. Hope’s journey started in Lewiston Woodville, North Carolina with both parents, Clarence and Bobbie Murphy, and eight brothers and sisters. Hope learned at an early age that God had his hands on her life, but it was in 2008 that she rededicated her life to Christ walking hand in hand with him. Hope attributes her inspiration for writing to her faith, family, Bishop Rosie S. O’neal of Koinonia Christian Center Church, students, and former teachers. The degree and licensures pursued at East Carolina University in Psychology and Special Education also contributed to her literary works. She went on to pursue a Master’s Degree in Special Education as well. Hope’s purpose for writing is to express God’s love in a way children can understand and receive it, which is revealed in her book, I am Loved: A Christmas Story. This heartwarming children’s book is first in The Great I Am series.
