FedEx Expands Self-Collection Service to Enhance Convenience and Flexibility for E-commerce Shoppers in Singapore

Customers can receive their FedEx packages through 800 new self-collection points nationwide

FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and one of the world’s largest express transportation companies, has expanded its self-collection services for FedEx packages through 800 new self-collection points from Ninja Van. The collaboration aims to enhance flexibility and convenience for customers when collecting their packages across Singapore, at no additional charge.

Customers can choose any of the collection points as their preferred self-collection location using the FedEx Delivery Manager International (FDMi) platform. This enables customers, who may not be available to receive their delivery, the option to select a location closest to their home or workplace.

“FedEx is committed to providing innovative solutions that enhance the experience for our customers. As the e-commerce sector continues to grow, e-retailers and consumers are constantly searching for flexible delivery options. The expanded self-collection service will provide a competitive edge for small and medium enterprises and e-merchants through added convenience and flexibility for their customers when it comes to delivery arrangements,” said Eric Tan, Managing Director, FedEx Express Singapore. “Self-collection services also play a crucial role in reducing the number of unsuccessful deliveries and attempts to deliver. This aligns perfectly with our commitment to promoting greater efficiency within our network.”

FedEx Singapore’s self-collection initiative is fueled by the rapid growth of e-commerce in the country. In 2022, Singapore’s e-commerce market had a value of US$9 billion and is expected to achieve a compound annual growth rate of 10%, reaching over US$14 billion by 2027. The expanded FedEx self-collection service helps increase productivity and efficiency within the network and could potentially reduce the number of our vehicles on the road performing small parcel deliveries. It also helps to ensure efficient delivery of goods to people and businesses, an objective that is in line with the Singapore government’s Urban Logistics Initiative.

Enabling consumers to personalise their delivery preferences remains a key focus for FedEx in Singapore. In October 2022, FedEx introduced the option for customers to receive delivery notifications and customise their delivery options through WhatsApp. This includes choosing from over 2,000 self-collection points from Ninja Van, Pick, Parcel Santa and Park N Parcel.
