About the Author

Lana Hazlett has loved music since childhood. She grew up on a farm in Western Pennsylvania. Her loving, hard-working parents gave her three brothers and herself the best life possible. At their little Chewton Christian Church she began singing when asked to do so. Piano lessons began, and for 12 years her sweet teacher, Joann Thurston, taught her piano but realized her true love was singing. She always gave her an opportunity to sing as well as play the piano.

She attended Westminster College majoring in elementary education with a music minor. Following graduation her first job was teaching music at a school in Blacksburg, Virginia. Her husband Bill and she soon had two unbelievable children, Holly and David.

Having settled in New Orleans, she began teaching music at the Oak Park Baptist Church Day School and soon started The Hazlett School of Music, which lasted 17 years. Following a move to The Woodlands, TX, she restarted her music school while also serving as the educational director for their Woodlands Orchestra.

She tells you all of this because this is life. Life is a one step at a time process. Words of love move us forward. Each of us must simply be the person God created us to be.
