Maria Silva-Amey’s Exciting Theory on Career Development to Exhibit at the San Diego Union-Tribune Festival of Books 2023

The San Diego Union-Tribune Festival of Books will be another opportunity for authors from across America to enrich their respective fields of study with new ideas and theories. This includes the field of counseling and therapy, with experts like Maria Silva-Amey already set on showcasing the results of many years of research to visiting readers. Her book, “Culminating Experience Personal Theory: Open Feelings Toward Choosing Your Dreams”, offers readers improved ways to understand themselves and how that understanding can bring them closer to success.

Silva-Amey describes the core of her theory as a sort of synthesis comprised of Person-Centered Theory, Social Learning Theory, and Jungian Analytical Theory. The result is a distinct focus on personal self-identity during the process of choosing (as well as advancing) one’s career.

It’s one of the newest books that incorporate more holistic perspectives on human psychology and development. Silva-Amey developed her theory after many years working on her Master of Science in Counseling. It was also further influenced by her work with culturally diverse student populations.

Maria Alice Silva-Amey, M.S. was born in Brazil and immigrated to the United States where she earned an AA degree in Literature and Language, followed by a B.S. in International Business and a Master of Science degree in Counseling.

For years, she has used a holistic approach to help others, helping them learn day-by-day to guide transformation and learn how to keep going on the journey.
Ms. Silva-Amey is also a member of the National Career Development Association, and author of Poetry Gives Different Magnitudes to Understand Your Thoughts as well as two published books, Body and Life Short Stories and Times is Short, both in Portuguese.
