The Children’s Book “The Dream Chair” by Claudia K. Leber Will Be Displayed at the 2023 San Diego Union-Tribune Festival of Books

The self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet will exhibit “The Dream Chair” by Claudia K. Leber at the 2023 San Diego Union-Tribune Festival of Books. The book event will take place on August 19, 2023, at the University of San Diego, 5998 Alcala Park, San Diego, CA.

Annually hosted by the University of San Diego, the San Diego Union-Tribune Festival of Books brings together San Diego residents who like reading, writers, retailers, and businesses. “The Dream Chair” is set in the family kitchen, where the family meets for meals. A toddler is placed in the chair by his grandmother to help keep her company while she prepares the morning meal. In this charming story, the toddler falls asleep in a dream chair in the family kitchen while the grandmother prepares breakfast.

The child dreams of colorful animals and beautiful scenery, feeling comforted by the grandmother’s presence and the love of their family. However, he is still conscious of the kitchen and the activities involved in preparing breakfast. His dream is filled with his grandmother’s loving presence as she prepares the family’s first meal of the day. Knowing his family is nearby, the toddler feels physically and emotionally nourished.

Author
Claudia K. Leber was born to a U.S. Army soldier and a French nursing assistant at the American Hospital in Paris, France. She traveled extensively during her life as her father taught at various universities. Claudia attended high school in Perth, Australia, and upon returning to the U.S., started college at the University of California in Irvine, where she received a B.A. in chemistry and worked at the chemistry department of a nuclear research reactor. Then while attending the University of California at Riverside, she studied geology and met her future husband while receiving a secondary teaching credential.

Her studies continued at the dental school of Washington University in St. Louis, where she received her DMD degree. Because of her love of chemistry and science, “Hydrogen Runner” materialized. Now retired, she fills her life with family and grandchildren.
